Author’s Guidelines

For authors:

The Romanian American Journal for the Humanities publishes academic articles in all fields of humanities, as well as fiction and non-fiction texts, poetry and other types of creative works.

The proposed materials can be an original piece or a republication of an existing article. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders for the republication of their work(s).

Materials for publication can be submitted directly to the journal editor.

For original works/articles, the journal applies an anonymous peer review process in which the reviewer’s and the author’s names are not revealed. After the publication of an original article by our journal, the author has the right to republish it elsewhere indicating the place of its original publication. An original text submitted for publication to our journal cannot be submitted at the same time to other journals, editing houses or private websites.

Each submission for publication should contain:

  • title / subtitle (if any).
  • On a separate page: the author’s full name with current affiliation, full address/phone/email and a biographical paragraph.
  • 8-10 (or more) key words
  • main text (with in-text references); use also end notes
  • bibliography

Language and Style:

If the text is in English, authors can use either British or American English. Any style is accepted (MLA, Chicago, etc.) as long as it is consistently applied from the beginning to the end of the text.

The style should avoid technical terms or any language difficult to understand. However, if specific terms or acronyms are used, the terminology should be explained.

Illustrations:

Authors are also responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders for reproducing any illustrations, tables, figures or other types of materials published elsewhere which are inserted in the work to be published.
